The clinician enters information about the patient into the iPhone app, and then submits it to the medical director, who makes final approvals, often using his or her own iPhone. RehabCare is thinking about how it can now streamline that process even more–for instance, by working with hospitals to structure referral information submitted in an e-mail in such a way that it can be immediately dropped into the pre-admission app, Escue says.
